January

Legoland opens, and photos by Eggleston presented at Louisiana Museum of Modern Art.

April
Tivoli Gardens right in the middle of Copenhagen open, Georg Jensen Silversmithy celebrates its centenary and Danish architect Jørn Utzon has his own exhibition at Louisiana.

May
The Danish crownprince Frederik is wed to his Australian bride Mary Donaldson and this calls for celebrations all over the country.

June
Vikings on the loose several places in the country, Riverboat Jazz in Silkeborg and rock on Funen, plus bonfires all over the country on St. Hans Eve.

July
Jazz festivals both in Copenhagen and Århus, Roskilde Festival draws music lovers from near and far, and Santas meet to fix the date of christmas.

August
Flower Festival in Odense, traditional sailing vessels on parade in Elsinore, and Medieval Festival in Horsens - are some of the events that take place in August.

September
Århus Festival Week celebrates its 40th anniversary, Golden Days Festival run in Copenhagen, modern design in Kolding - and Tivoli closes.

October
Several cultural institutions come alive after dark during the Night of Culture which take place in several Danish towns. Legoland closes for the winter!

November
The Sketch, the essential working tool of the artist is dealt with at Sophienholm. And christmas is closing in on us - several of the traditional Danish christmas events start.
