Mondsee, Austria - The Stiftskirche Mondsee, in the Salzkammergut region near Salzburg, will present a dozen candlelight concerts from June through August, 2004.

The church, where Maria and Captain von Trapp were married in The Sound of Music, will be illuminated by 300 candles during each performance by a string ensemble. Music will include works by Mozart and other classical composers.

Friday, July 2 Friday, August 13
Friday, July 9 Saturday, August 21
Friday, July 16 Friday, August 27

Each concert begins at 8:30 p.m. and ends at approximately 9:45 p.m. The ticket price is ¤18.

Mondsee is just south of the Salzburg-Vienna Autobahn. From the Salzburg Nord entrace, drive 25 km (15 miles) to the Mondsee exit, head south on Salzburgerstrasse, and follow the signs into town.
