This October, key decision-makers and buyers from over 100 incentives houses, business travel agencies and major corporations, as well as international media from Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North America will be in Wales for VisitBritain’s exclusive Discovery event (22 – 24 October).

Around 40 business tourism partners from around the UK, including unusual venues, hotels, national and regional tourist boards, convention bureaux and destination management organsiations, will hold one-to-one meetings with delegates during the two-day flagship event for the meetings and incentives industry. Cardiff’s Celtic Manor Resort will host the event and confirmed attendees include The Old Course Hotel, the Grove, Leeds Castle, the Landmark London, Wedgewood Britain and the recently formed MeetEngland.

Jeremy Brinkworth, VisitBritain’s Head of Business Tourism, said:

“Nearly seven million business-related visits are made to the UK every year – together worth £3.5 billion. While VisitBritain has run successful workshops of this nature for some time, providing an ideal platform for key international buyers to meet and discuss business with UK suppliers, Discovery will inspire delegates to look again and rediscover the diversity of all that Britain offers business.”

In partnership with Wales Tourist Board, delegates and exhibitors will also attend a Gala Dinner at the National Museum of Wales and experience first-hand some of the best of Britain’s meeting and incentive products and services. During their stay in Wales, they will enjoy spa treatments, golf, falconry and other activities, which illustrate the unique opportunities that companies can offer their employees as incentives for hard work and productivity. A series of familarisation trips around other parts of the country will also be allow international buyer to discover all this exclusive island has to offer.
