Berlin will be the stage for the biggest New Year's Eve Party worldwide. Live-Bands, DJs, the famous countdown and the giant firework display will ,this year again, bring a million people to the Brandenbourg gate. The first official New Year's Eve event in Germany's capital took place in 1995. It has developed over the years to become the largest Open-Air Party worldwide.
Offering peaceful people a place to party, celebrate and welcome the New Year in a unique atmosphere. It is the combination of music, light, stage shows, international stars, DJ towers, dance floors, and not least the fantastic firework display, that makes New Year's Eve in Berlin an Open-Ended Night to crown all nights.
New Year in Berlin has long since become synonymous with a spectacular happy party event with international guests.
Just take New Year's Eve 2003 / 2004 as an example. More than one million visitors celebrated through to the early hours of the morning. They enjoyed the diversity of entertainment staged between the Victory Column and the Boulevard Unter den Linden, as well as the sensational light show and breathtaking firework display.
Due to roadworks on the Pariser Platz, the Party will take place between the Brandenbourg Gate and the Column of Victory. This represents 2 kilometres of Party floor with many stages, a 40 metres high ferris wheel. Food from around the world and, of course, after midnight the Open End Party in the streets of Berlin.
For those who fear the cold, 8 Party tents with different styles of music, drinks and food are being set up.
The whole event is free of charge and open to all public.
