Derbyshire stars in ‘Pride and Prejudice’ movieThe county of Derbyshire in central England is to be the backdrop of a big screen adaptation of Jane Austen's novel "Pride and Prejudice". Starring Keira Knightley and Dame Judi Dench, the movie will be released in 2005 and features locations such as Chatsworth House, home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire and Jane Austen's model for Mr Darcy's country house. The Peak District National Park's Eastern Moors Estate and the land off scenic Snake Pass also feature.

Derbyshire is home to some of the UK's most beautiful countryside and is described by Elizabeth Bennet in Pride and Prejudice as a county where "there was enough to be seen, to occupy the chief of three weeks".
