Ah, to be young again, with all the privileges of youth - good looks and free time to roam around Europe on a Eurail Pass that costs significantly less than an adult pass. Eurail Passes are one of the great bargains for travelling in Europe. With its range of single-fare rail passes for unlimited travel on the different rail systems of Europe, paid in local currency before departure, Eurail eliminates the need to purchase rail tickets for each leg of a journey and provides a hedge against fluctuating exchange rates.
While Eurail youth fares have traditionally been pegged to about 30% below adult fares, in 2005 the discount will drop further and savings will rise to approximately 35% for all Eurailpasses and Eurail Selectpasses. Most Eurail Regional Passes (valid for a number of country combinations) also offer youth versions, giving discounts ranging from 30% to 40%.
Best of all, the classic first-class 17-country Eurailpass remains at 2003 levels for the second year in a row, the increased youth discount now effectively reducing the price of the Eurailpass Youth. Eurailpass Youth is valid from 15 consecutive days up to three months. The Eurailpass Youth Flexi is valid for either 10 or 15 travel days, within a 2-month period. The Eurail Selectpass, covers the travellers choice of three, four or five adjoining countries and is available for 5 up to 10 travel days within 2 months.
Eurail Youth fares apply to travel in second class and are available for all travellers under 26 years of age. Eurail Pass holders also enjoy added value with a number of Eurail bonus partners offering reduced or free transportation on ferries, sightseeing tours, hotels, car rental and more.
So don't delay, pack your bags today. Europe is calling and you're only young once.
