With an extended opening period from 12 February to 11 December, Blenheim Palace is planning a host of brand new events in 2005, including a Jousting Tournament (30 April to 2 May), a Triathlon (22 May), a Tattoo and Country Fair (15-17 July) and a Children's Extravaganza (6-7 August).

There will also be a new exhibition marking the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II and 40 years since the death of Winston Churchill. Churchills' Destiny - the story of two great war leaders runs from 28 May to 11 September and celebrates the achievements of Sir Winston Churchill and his ancestor and hero, John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough.
